Polycarbonate is the material of choice for children’s lenses because of its durability and resistance to impact. All kids’ lenses that we supply are therefore made of polycarbonate for the highest safety standards. There are two types of polycarbonate lenses that coolframes offers.
Polycarbonate Generic
We manufacture both polycarbonate and high power polycarbonate children’s lenses in our labs. This lightweight material is comfortable and ensures that your children can enjoy their activities at home and school without the discomfort and restriction felt with some other lens materials. It is impact-resistant and safe to wear when playing outdoor sports. Polycarbonate lenses are recommended by eye care professionals for children
We can also supply add-ons with your purchase of a pair of kids’ generic lenses.
Glare-free coating enhances your kids’ lenses by increasing the proportion of light passing through the lens, reducing glare off the lens surface. Clearer vision results throughout the day and at night and during computer use. Generic glare-free coating comes with a 6-month warranty against scratching and any defects. Other add-ons include lens tinting that can be done in any color, and Transitions application to the lenses that activates tinting when exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Depending on how strong the sunlight is, the lenses
will darken by up to 70%.
Airwear
Airwear is a high quality name brand lens designed in France. The lenses properties allow for reduced distortion , less color aberration, and clearer light transmission through the lens. We also carry the extended range of Airwear high power polycarbonate lenses for children.
With your purchase of a pair of children’s Airwear lenses, we have a few add-ons available, including Kids’ Crizal glare-free coating and Transition grey.
Crizal glare-free coating provides 2-sided scratch-resistant and anti-reflective benefits to the lens.
Transition grey application causes the lenses to darken when exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet light, protecting the eyes and increasing comfort.
